The pastors, church co-workers and all other church members need to be aware of what to do and how to act in cases of emergency. Responsible leadership during these times will help prevent injuries and minimize any adverse impact on the assets of the church. The Fire and Tornado Escape Plan for church have been reviewed and approved by the CCUC-North Safety Committee.
Fire Escape Routine
Fire Safety Rules - please become familiar with the procedures and discuss them with your group. - In case of fire or alarm, leave the building using the closest exit possible. Some classroom areas have a diagram of the floor plan hanging near the doorway. Follow that plan.
- Shut the door of your classroom when everyone is out.
- There should be one way only traffic in the hallways.
- Take your group well away from the building and make sure all of your students are with you.
- Students should not go looking for parents, brothers and sisters or the family car.
- Do not return to the building until an all clear sign has been given.
- Teachers get a head count on the number of students.
- After exiting building head towards the far end of the parking lot.
